Ira Taylor joined Rose Commercial Real Estate as Vice President in January 2021. A professional with more than 35 years in residential, commercial and industrial real estate, he has extensive experience in the fields of construction, project management, appraisal and land brokerage to the homebuilding industry. His diverse background also includes sales and leasing of medical, industrial and new home construction.
After years working in his family’s general contracting and development business, where he focused on construction, site development, project management, marketing and sales, Ira became a state certified general appraiser. He then went on to obtain his brokerage license with a specialization in land sales to the home-building industry. His expertise is well documented with sales of approximately 1,300 approved or improved homebuilding lots with a market value of approximately $35 million dollars for local, regional and national clients. Specifically, in 2004, Ira coordinated and brokered the land sale of a 100 acre former dirt borrow pit which was subsequently transformed into Centennial Mill, a 400 lot $160 million dollar active adult community developed by Del Webb/Pulte Homes in Voorhees, New Jersey.
This is just one of a number of ventures in which Ira honed his skills in leveraging and managing the financial, legal and engineering resources required to obtain approvals and entitlements for third-party homebuilders. Other notable projects include a 60-acre assemblage for a proposed 475-unit mixed use development in Monroe Township, Gloucester County. Throughout his career, Ira has remained active in the professional community, including being a two-time advisory committee member with the Burlington County Office of Land Use Planning.
Ira was born and raised in South Jersey where he excelled in sports and class leadership. Ira obtained an economics degree from the University of Maryland and Tilburg University in the Netherlands, where he studied the creation of the European Economic Union (EEU) trading bloc and the proposed new currency (the Euro). He also did post graduate work at the School for Public and Urban affairs at University of Pennsylvania where he studied energy policy and management. Ira obtained his New Jersey Salesman’s license in 1987, New Jersey Appraiser’s license in 1992 and his New Jersey broker’s license in 1994.
Ira’s personal interests include music, tennis, sailing, sailboat restoration and his Golden-Doodle Zoe. During the summer, Ira is an active member of the Red Dragon Canoe Club located at the historic 7,500 square foot Shipman Mansion built in 1861 located in Edgewater Park, NJ on the Delaware River where he enjoys sailing and Kayaking. Ira is active in fundraising efforts for the Shipman Mansion Foundation which was recently awarded a $300,000 building restoration grant from the State of New Jersey Historic Trust.
